Length of a Wedge Anchor
Determining wedge anchor length is crucial prior installing. Wedge anchors come in various diameters and various respective lengths to the diameters. Wedge anchor of a certain diameter must be embedded into the base at a minimum depth.
The below table maps the diameter of a wedge anchor to minimum embedment depth required.
Diameter of Wedge Anchor | Minimum Embedment Depth |
1/4” | 1-1/8” |
5/16” | 1-1/4” |
3/8” | 1-1/2” |
1/2” | 2-1/4 |
5/8” | 2-3/4” |
3/4” | 3-1/4” |
7/8” | 3-7/8” |
1” | 4-1/2” |
1-1/4” | 5-1/2” |
Installing wedge anchors deeper than the minimum depth embedment can provide better fixation. Make sure depth of embedment is not taken to extremes.
